1956. Setting the foundation for learning a language

Students must devote some time to actually studying English.

I mean, they must sit down and work out their textbook and workbook, at home, with serenity, in their rooms.

For example they must study the irregular verbs or the reported speech.

This grammar is like the skeleton for later communication in English.

Also: No words, no communication. So they should study and learn vocabulary.

In that way they’re setting the foundation for later communication, as I said.

They should have some homework to deposit, calm, settle what studied at school that day. This is a key to success in learning English. / Photo from: Swiss Guard again, with other uniforms. The picture is for illustration
